I've always been a feminist bc I always knew that all genders should be 100% equal and everyone should given the support they need. But one of the most marking memorys was probably when I was about 7 or 8. I was in school and I was wearing a skirt. It was a normal skirt, about knee lenght. I wad talking to my friends and playing tag when two boyd in my age or one year older came up to me and started to get on my nerves. I told them to leave me alone. The bigger one flipped my skirt up while the other one held my arms. I screamed at them and wiggeled myself from the other one. I pulled my skirt down and slapped and punched the two boys until they ran away. I never told anyone about it bc I knew their only reaction would be "that's what boys do" or "why did you punch them?". I eventually ended up blaming myself for it and forgetting about it. But I never wore a skirt again. I never felt safe enough for it. I gave all my skirts and dresses away to charity and told my mum that I didn't want to wear any dresses ever again. I only remembered recently bc someone asked me why I never wear any skirts to school. That's how much damage a small incident can cause.
