HOW DID YOU BECOME A FEMINIST? (Story)

I became a feminist when I realised how women’s bodies in America are being controlled by men and how men get away with shouting vile things at women and CHILDREN about their body or that they “need to smile more”. I just want equality for women and men and people who catcall deserve a prison sentence or at least community service. I also hated that my dad would tell me when I was annoyed that I was being difficult or my mum would say “someone’s on their period” and now I feel like I can’t talk to them about things that have happened in my life, like when I started dating my girlfriend or when I realised I was bi. They know I’m in a relationship but they assume it’s a guy.
